Local politicians break ground on new addition to the Woodstock Police Station WOODSTOCK SENTINEL REVIEW They didn't get much dirt on the shovels, but they got them in the ground. The symbolic ground breaking ceremony Friday morning marked the beginning stages of construction on a two-storey addition to the Woodstock Police Station. "We're very excited. It's been a long time coming," said police chief Bill Renton. The addition will allow Woodstock Police to bring all of their operations back under one roof. At present time, some operations are housed off-site.

Chattanooga precast concrete plant part of acquisition TIMES FREE PRESS Nashville-based Sherman-Dixie Concrete Industries, a maker of precast concrete construction materials with a plant in Chattanooga, announced Tuesday that it has been acquired by Irving, Texas-based Forterra Building Products. Forterra company officials said the 20 jobs at Sherman-Dixie's Chattanooga plant, and the plant itself, will not be affected by the acquisition. Sherman-Dixie will continue operating all of its current facilities, and will change over to the Forterra name sometime early this year.
